About
Designed by Noël Leu with assistance from Mirco Schiavone and Reto Moser, GT Super translates the loose, calligraphic energy of 1970s and 80s display serifs into stable, refined typographic shapes. The family splits into Text and Display optical subfamilies, each running from Light to Super with matching italics, giving twenty styles in total. Its high contrast and flowing curves make it well suited to editorial mastheads, book covers and brand identities that want personality without period pastiche.
Classification
Rooted in the expressive, calligraphic display serifs of the 1970s and 80s, GT Super sits firmly in the display serif category with idiosyncratic curves and high-contrast strokes that distinguish it from conventional text serifs.
