A digitisation of a pre-Letraset Austrian poster lettering system, unearthed in a Viennese antique shop and expanded with additional characters by Facetype.
About
Blitzplakat originates from a physical stamp-based system that allowed users to compose advertising posters by cutting out individual letters and pressing them onto paper. Marcus Sterz digitised the find and extended the character set to cover a broad range of Latin-script languages. The result retains the blunt, hand-assembled quality of its source material, suited to display use at large sizes.
Classification
A digitisation of a pre-Letraset dry-transfer lettering system, Blitzplakat carries the raw, cut-out character of mid-century advertising poster lettering, placing it firmly in the display category with stencil or poster subcategory traits.
