Anabella
RNS Fonts · Martín Sesto · 2018

A brush-inflected display serif drawn from Neapolitan pizzeria poster lettering, developed as a master's thesis typeface for a Buenos Aires pizza franchise.
About
Anabella preserves the gestural qualities of hand-painted Neapolitan pizza posters, combining vertical axis and high contrast with a brush stroke that lends organic warmth to the letterforms. Three styles address different typographic contexts: Roman for short text up to 14pt, Italic for bodies above 16pt, and a Bold Italic Stencil for branding and titles. The family was awarded at the Biennial Tipos Latinos 2018 and carries a broad OpenType feature set including swashes, stylistic alternates and discretionary ligatures.
Classification
A high-contrast, brush-inflected display serif with vertical axis and gestural stroke character, derived from Neapolitan pizzeria poster lettering traditions. The stencil variant and swash-heavy OpenType feature set confirm its orientation toward display and branding use rather than extended text.
