A bold extra-condensed display face in the 19th-century Italian style, designed by Lyubov Kuznetsova for ParaType in 1992 as a decorated companion to her earlier Xenia typeface.
About
Derived from Kuznetsova's 1990 Xenia, this variant applies the reversed-contrast conventions of the Italian woodtype tradition to an extra-condensed structure suited to poster and advertising work. Only two styles are offered: Bold and Bold Italic. Its decorative character makes it unsuitable for continuous text but effective at large sizes.
Classification
A bold extra-condensed display face in the 'Italian' style, characterised by reversed stroke contrast typical of 19th-century woodtype poster letterforms, designed for advertising and headline use.
