A personal take on ITC Eras, brighter and sharper for today's screens.
About
Galera is DualType's interpretation of ITC Eras, the 1960s French sans by Albert Boton and Albert Hollenstein, drawn from scratch with the original as its model. The weights step more smoothly, the heavy styles are more restrained and small brush-led details sharpen the whole family. Nine weights from Thin to Black plus a variable font, with Cyrillic.
Classification
DualType's own interpretation of ITC Eras, the 1960s French sans by Albert Boton and Albert Hollenstein, drawn from the ground up and independent of Monotype, which owns the Eras name. Smoother steps between weights, more restrained proportions in the heavy styles and brush-informed details. Nine weights from Thin to Black plus a variable font. Old-style, tabular and proportional figures, fractions, a single-storey a, discretionary ligatures, Bulgarian and Serbian alternates.
