A 2026 rounded-square sans in the Eurostile tradition, built from softened rectangles and spanning six weights with a variable font included.
About
DGM Europa draws directly from the genre established by Aldo Novarese's Eurostile (1962), itself an expansion of Microgramma (1952), using rectangles with softened corners as its constructive basis. Letterforms are wide and horizontally weighted, maintaining consistent proportions across the six-weight range from Light to Black. OpenType alternates offer a straight t, single-storey a, alternative G and g, a long J and case-sensitive forms.
Classification
Belongs to the rounded-square genre descended from Novarese's Eurostile (1962), built from softened rectangles with wide, horizontally weighted letterforms. The superelliptical construction and balanced width across weights place it firmly in the geometric sans tradition.
