Transport New

A refined redrawing of the typeface used on British road signs, extending the original Heavy and Medium weights with a previously unreleased Light and new condensed cuts.
About
Based on the lettering designed for UK road signage in the 1960s, Transport New adds italics across all three weights and a full Latin Extended-A character set. Version 3 brings outline and spacing refinements to align the family with Motorway, the companion typeface used alongside it on British roads. A separate Condensed Package introduces SemiCondensed and Condensed variants of the Heavy weight for space-constrained applications such as street nameplates.
Classification
A sans-serif grotesque derived from the typeface designed for British road signage in the 1960s. Its letterforms follow the utilitarian, legibility-focused conventions of highway sign lettering rather than any traditional grotesque lineage.
