Emerat
Dirty Line Studio · Hendra Maulia · 2020

A sharp-edged calligraphic script from Banda Aceh's Dirtyline Studio, with a bouncing baseline and a well-stocked set of OpenType alternates, swashes and four stylistic sets.
About
Emerat is a single-weight display script built on precise, angular calligraphic forms with pronounced baseline variation. Hendra Maulia has equipped it with contextual alternates, four stylistic sets, swash glyphs and PUA encoding for non-OpenType environments, giving designers more control than most retail scripts at this price. The use case is narrow – logos, invitations, display headlines – but within that lane it is well-constructed.
Classification
Single-weight sharp-edged calligraphic script with a pronounced bouncing baseline. Angular rather than rounded stroke terminals give it a cut-quill feel. OpenType feature set includes discretionary ligatures, contextual alternates, swash characters and four stylistic sets. PUA-encoded glyphs allow access to alternates in environments that lack full OpenType support. Extended Latin character set.
