A bilingual Hebrew and Latin square slab serif by Avraham Cornfeld, drawing on Israeli display lettering of the 1970s across five weights from Light to Black.
About
Cornfeld designed Paamon in 2013, updated to version 3.0 in 2019, taking cues from bold Hebrew display types of the 1970s and contemporary Latin slab serif forms. The letterforms are deliberately square and stable, with a formal richness balanced by an approachable, spontaneous character. Suited to headlines, logotypes and packaging where a strong bilingual voice is required.
Classification
A square, geometric slab serif with sturdy, blocky letterforms and even stroke weight, rooted in 1970s Hebrew display typography and modern Latin slab serif conventions. The consistent thick serifs and rectangular construction place it firmly in the square slab category.
