A bilingual Hebrew-Latin typeface fifteen years in development, uniting calligraphic fluidity with structural rigidity through low contrast, angular counters and deliberately asymmetrical proportions.
About
Begun by Avraham Cornfeld in 2010 and refined over successive years of periodic return, Karma reached a focused production phase around 2020 when Anna Khoury joined to design the Latin component. The result is a six-weight family spanning Ultralight to Bold, in which pointed-flaring terminals and irregular proportions generate a distinctive rhythm equally suited to bold headlines and sustained reading. Its bilingual architecture treats Hebrew and Latin as equal partners rather than afterthoughts.
Classification
A bilingual Hebrew-Latin sans-serif with calligraphic origins, characterised by low stroke contrast, angular counters and asymmetrical proportions rooted in calligraphic motion rather than geometric or grotesque traditions.
