About

Flor de Ruina moves through five linked states, from germen to fractura, each glyph set further along a botanical life cycle than the last. Felipe Sanzana built it as a tool for slow reading, deliberately unsettling the automatic pace most typefaces aim for. Pixel-edged forms and a brutalist rawness carry that intent through into the letterforms themselves.

Built as five sequential glyph states, germen, semilla, flor, ruina and fractura, tracing a flower's life cycle from germination to fracture. Pixel-edged construction and a brutalist rawness deliberately slow the reader down.
