About
Degheest gathers together several sub-families, Abordage, Basalte, Director, Equateur, FT88 and Latitude among them, all drawn from letterer Ange Degheest's archive at the Rennes School of Fine Arts. Degheest worked through the second half of the twentieth century with little public recognition; a team of students rebuilt her drawings into working digital fonts as a way to finally credit her. The result spans serif, sans, pixel and near-monospace forms rather than sitting in one category.
Classification
A revival project spanning several distinct sub-families, Abordage, Basalte, Director, Equateur, FT88 and Latitude among them, built after students found Ange Degheest's archive at the Rennes School of Fine Arts. Degheest (1928 to 2009) worked largely uncredited during her career, and the project exists to correct that.
