About
Ductus constructs its letterforms from skeletal strokes onto which one of three Metapost pen shapes is applied, directly echoing the calligraphic practice of drawing letters along a central path and letting the tool's form determine the resulting contour. The three subfamilies — Regular, Geometric and Calligraphic — correspond to Pencircle, Penrazor and Pensquare respectively, each paired with a monospaced variant. The result is a family that makes its constructive logic visible, treating the relationship between tool and letterform as the central design question.
