Amiamie specimen from Typothèque Bye Bye Binary

A neo-grotesque derived from Aileron and the Helvetica tradition, extended with glyphs designed to support gender-inclusive and non-binary French writing.

About

Built atop Sora Sagano's open-source Aileron, Amiamie follows a lineage running from Neue Haas Grotesk through Helvetica. Mirat Masson and collaborators augmented the base with glyphs enabling inclusive French typography, such as midpoints and combined feminine/masculine endings. The family spans three weights with italics and a rounded variant, giving writers a range of expressive options within a familiar grotesque framework.

Classification

A neo-grotesque in the Helvetica lineage, derived from Sora Sagano's open-source Aileron (2014), which itself drew from Neue Haas Grotesk/Helvetica. Augmented with non-binary and gender-inclusive glyphs.
