Designed by Eugénie Bidaut, Adelphe draws on Renaissance proportions and a calligraphic ductus to produce a typeface that integrates inclusive gender-neutral characters without disrupting the typographic grey of body text. Three subfamilies offer distinct approaches: Germinal uses the median point, Floréal employs subscript diacritics to mark gendered endings, and Fructidor combines an alternate 'e' form with ligatures. The name, meaning sibling without gender in French, asserts that inclusive language belongs equally to traditions of classical typography and learned culture.
