A monospaced variable serif from TypeType that shifts along a single axis from monolinear to reverse-contrast, with optional serifs and a distinctive loop-based rhythmic structure.
About
Released in 2020 by Vika Usmanova and Ivan Gladkikh, TT Geekette departs from nib-pen logic in favour of smooth, plastic forms built around systematic looping elements. Its variable axis controls contrast build-up, moving from a flat monolinear serif at one extreme to a pronounced reverse-contrast style at the other, with serifs themselves switchable on or off. The three-style family covers over 170 languages across Latin and Cyrillic, with more than 450 glyphs per style and OpenType features including oldstyle figures and fractions.
Classification
An experimental decorative serif with variable contrast, ranging from monolinear to pronounced reverse contrast. Classified as display due to its unconventional graphic approach, optional serifs, and monospaced construction designed for expressive, non-body use.
