Paul Renner's 1927 Futura remade by TypeTogether with Bauer Types after two years of archival research, in six weights with obliques and a Text optical size.
About
Futura®100 goes back to Renner's original drawings rather than the later redrawings, keeping the circles, triangles and squares of the geometric model while tuning it for screens and current publishing. Six weights from Light to Bold come with matching obliques, a Text cut adjusts spacing and extenders for paragraphs, and variable fonts cover weight and optical size. Small caps, five sets of figures, geometric alternates and arrows are included, and the family is being drawn in 23 scripts.
Classification
A revival and global expansion of Paul Renner's 1927 Futura, the archetype of geometric sans-serif design, built on circular forms, near-zero stroke contrast and minimal decoration.
