Sélavy specimen from Type Brut

A free dotted display typeface by Nina Stössinger, loosely derived from the 13 punched-out capitals on Marcel Duchamp's 1934 Green Box, released for Paul Soulellis's Library of the Printed Web project.

About

Each glyph is constructed from a single repeating dot element, stored as a component called BASE-DOT, making it straightforward to derive new designs by altering that one outline. The typeface covers capitals, lowercase, numerals, punctuation, symbols and common Latin accents. Source files are distributed in UFO format, enabling editing in RoboFont or any compatible font editor.

Classification

A dot-matrix display typeface constructed entirely from circular dot elements, each glyph built as components of a single base dot. The design is experimental and conceptual, rooted in a specific art-historical reference rather than typographic convention.
