sans-serifgothic
ToMute specimen from ToSupply

A single-weight revival of Robert Wiebking's Square Gothic (Ludlow, 1922), offering uniform strokes and neutral proportions suited to both body text and display use.

About

Developed between 2015 and 2019, ToMute draws from Wiebking's 1922 Square Gothic, preserving its monolinear construction and squared geometry. Available in one Regular cut, it is designed to function unobtrusively across a broad range of sizes and contexts. An extensive Latin character set and a suite of OpenType features – including alternate g, tabular figures and circled numbers – give it practical breadth despite its formal restraint.

Classification

A revival of Robert Wiebking's Square Gothic (Ludlow, 1922), characterised by uniform stroke weight, squared proportions and neutral letterforms with no contrast – placing it squarely in the gothic/grotesque tradition.
