Leaf
ToSupply · 2018

A serif rooted in the 17th-century Dutch tradition of Bartholomeus Voskens, distinguished by plant-inspired terminals, low stroke contrast and an unusually tall x-height suited to compact layouts.
About
Developed between 2015 and 2018, Leaf translates the organic drawing sensibility of Dutch Baroque type into a contemporary text face. Its low contrast and tall x-height, with minimal difference from cap height, allow it to hold its character at small sizes without sacrificing legibility. The family is deliberately spare: Regular and Italic only, placing confidence in the distinctiveness of the letterforms themselves.
