A sturdy text serif for self-publishing, built to survive the photocopier and the risograph.
About
Libreto was drawn for home and small-press printing, so its contrast is low and its ink traps are deep enough to stop letters clogging on a laser printer or a riso. A tall x-height and open counters keep long reading easy, while rounded corners and teardrop terminals nod to theatrical scripts. Five weights with italics, small caps and a full set of figures.
Classification
Low-contrast text serif mixing mechanical construction with humanist detail: rounded vertices, teardrop terminals and ink traps sized for inkjet, laser, photocopier and risograph output. Tall x-height and open counters. Small caps, several figure styles and case-sensitive punctuation.
