About
Rawlinson 2.0 emerged while Montalbano was developing the NPS Roadway font for the National Park Service, gradually mixing in details from Plantin, Sabon and various Garamond designs. What was meant for signage produced, in his words, an unexpectedly useful set of text fonts, with a large x-height for legibility. The National Park Service adopted the design into its identity programme before Montalbano released it commercially, adding small caps and extra figure styles, and it is sold in standard and condensed widths.
