Brutal Clones

Studio Triple started this face for the identity of artist duo MKNM, and it has since taken on a life of its own as Brutal Clones. It assembles geometric parts in a deliberately rough way, echoing the duo's sculptural work. Architecture, sculpture and solid, touchable form are the references, and it remains a work in progress.

Classification

Heavy geometric capitals built from circles, bars and wedges, with odd collisions such as a B fused to a small o and an R whose leg breaks away. Horizontals taper and tilt, giving the shapes a cut-and-pasted look.
