Record Disc
Sharp Type · Johan Mossé & Quentin Berthelot (Image Format) · 2025

The softer half of Sharp Type's Record superfamily: a retro-futurist display sans drawing on Antique Olive Nord and Serpentine, updated for contemporary use.
About
Record Disc is the rounded, more refined side of the Record superfamily, designed by Image Format (Johan Mossé and Quentin Berthelot) and released through Sharp Type in February 2025. Where Record Laser plays sharp and loud, Record Disc brings a quieter version of the same retro-futurist sensibility, drawing on Antique Olive Nord and Serpentine while meeting contemporary typographic standards. The result is a display sans suited to a broader range of applications than its companion, without losing the cultural charge of its 1980s references.
Classification
Display sans-serif with softened, contemporary forms rooted in 1980s retro-futurist aesthetics. The rounder, more refined half of the Record superfamily, paired with the sharper Record Laser. Primary references are Antique Olive Nord by Roger Excoffon and Serpentine by Dick Jensen. Features variable stylization. Comes in 10 styles total; specific weight names could not be confirmed due to foundry site rate-limiting, but the 10-style count suggests 5 weights with matching italics.
