About
Ripley began in 2018 as research into legibility on screen and grew into a transitional serif that borrows from several generations of Times without reviving any one of them. Wider proportions and sturdier hairlines help it at text sizes; seven weights with italics, small caps, swashes and Vietnamese support carry it from books to more informal work.
Classification
A transitional text serif distilled from several versions of Times (the original Roman, NR Seven, Europa, Millennium and Titling), with wider proportions and reinforced hairlines for small sizes and screens. It started as research into on-screen legibility with adaptive axes.
