Each glyph in Sol is derived from the spatial possibilities of a cube, continuing LeWitt's 1974 artwork '122 variations on incomplete open cubes' as typographic practice. The two variants – Steel and Wood – carry the material language of LeWitt's source structures into the character set. The typeface is not available for commercial licensing and has appeared editorially in New York Times Style headlines.
