A multi-width variable sans spanning nine widths and nine weights, rooted in French newspaper typography of the late 19th century and the futuristic geometric sans tradition of the 1960s.
About
Designed by Alexander Kapusta between 2020 and 2023, the family covers 81 static styles plus a single variable font file with width and weight axes. Inspiration came from Miedinger's Horizontal (1965) and Novarese's Eurostile (1962), though the final design softens their characteristic squareness. The character set includes decorative arrows, geometric shapes, fractions and index figures, with extended Latin and Cyrillic support planned for future updates.
Classification
A geometric sans-serif with display sensibility, drawing from futuristic sans traditions of the 1960s such as Eurostile and Horizontal, with a squareness softened over successive iterations. The multi-width variable structure and strong stroke geometry firmly place it within the geometric sans category.
