A two-weight display typeface with low contrast and irregular one-sided serifs, named after Count Sergey Stroganov and his Moscow school of industrial art.
About
Designed by Oleg Karpinsky and licensed by ParaType in 2002, Stroganov takes its name from Count Sergey Stroganov, founder of the Stroganov School of Industrial Art in Moscow. The typeface's defining trait is its irregular one-sided serifs, which give it an informal, experimental character suited to advertising and display typography. Only two weights are offered: Regular and Bold.
Classification
Low-contrast letterforms with irregular one-sided serifs place this firmly in the display/decorative category, designed for advertising and poster use rather than extended text setting.
