A revival of the Renaissance types of Simon de Colines, offered across four optical sizes with a variable version and broad Cyrillic coverage including local alternates.
About
Designed by Krista Radoeva and finalised by Dmitry Goloub and Alexander Lubovenko, Simon draws on the work of the 16th-century French punchcutter and printer Simon de Colines. Thirteen styles span Caption, Text, Subhead and Display optical sizes, each with upright and italic cuts, unified into a variable font. The character set includes small caps, six figure styles, non-standard ligatures, case-sensitive punctuation and local alternates for Bulgarian, Serbian, Bashkir, Chuvash and Polish.
Classification
Revival of 16th-century French punchcutter Simon de Colines, with soft stroke modulation and a humanist structure typical of Renaissance Roman types. Four optical sizes confirm its text-oriented, book-printing heritage.
