A caps-only geometric display face inspired by Russian avant-garde lettering, Suprematism and the graphic work of Chekhonin and El Lissitzky.
About
Designed by Gayaneh Bagdasaryan for ParaType in 2004, Red Klin draws on early 20th-century Russian fine art traditions, including the lettering of Sergey Chekhonin and the constructivist graphic design of El Lissitzky. Its heavy, geometric forms reflect Suprematist painting principles, making it suited to poster work, advertising and display typography. A sketch version under the name Klin received a TDC2 2000 diploma.
Classification
