A three-width sans-serif family designed for advertising and editorial use, spanning 22 styles across regular, condensed and extended proportions with Cyrillic support.
About
Oleg Karpinsky's Quartal began as four condensed headline weights before expanding into a 22-style family covering five regular weights, four condensed cuts and thirteen extended styles with matching italics. The extended subfamily broadens its reach to smaller text sizes and magazine settings, while the name references the urban advertising environment that inspired the design. Character sets cover Western European Latin and basic Cyrillic languages, with additional alternates particularly in the Cyrillic portion.
Classification
A condensed-proportion sans-serif with geometric leanings, released in regular, condensed and extended widths. Its stylish, advertising-oriented character places it firmly in the display geometric sans tradition.
