An extra condensed display sans designed at ParaType in 1991 by Vladimir Yefimov, based on Gennady Baryshnikov's Anons, with decorative styles added in 1997 by Alexander Tarbeev.
About
Designed for advertising and poster typography, Compakt is built on an extra condensed grotesque skeleton derived from Baryshnikov's Anons. The family spans nine styles, from conventional Book and Bold weights with obliques to expressive decorative cuts: Rough, Rough Bold, Broken, Dance and Wind. The decorative variants, added six years after the original release, extend the family's range from workhorse display text to more playful applications.
Classification
An extra condensed sans serif designed for display and advertising use, with decorative variants added later. Its narrow proportions and grotesque structure place it firmly in the condensed display sans tradition.
