A 14-style humanist sans drawn from the US Federal Highway Administration's 1966 lettering standards, extended with true italics, small caps and a 270-glyph symbol set.
About
Based on the typefaces standardised for American highway signage – themselves rooted in California Department of Transportation studies from the 1940s – this family spans seven weights from Extra Thin to Black, each with a true italic drawn independently rather than slanted. The Pro version adds 21 OpenType features including small caps, fractions and ordinals, along with multilingual support covering Latin, Greek and Cyrillic scripts. Each font is completed with 270 copyright-free symbols covering transport, environment, fabric care and urban signage categories.
Classification
Derived from the FHWA highway sign lettering standards, which are humanist in character – open apertures, moderate stroke contrast and legibility-focused forms. The true italics and extensive weight range confirm a professionally developed humanist sans family.
