neue Vektor A specimen from Neue

A monolinear neo-grotesque in 14 styles, designed specifically for wayfinding applications, with closed counters, horizontal terminals and an extensive set of arrow and symbol variants.

About

Part of the neue Vektor system — three stylistically distinct families sharing identical character sets, metrics and OpenType features — Vektor A takes the most conventional route with symmetrical arcs and organically connected joints that produce a clear figure-ground relationship. Each style ships with over 1,000 glyphs, covering 90-plus Latin-based languages, and includes an unusually thorough set of enclosed alphanumerics and directional arrows suited to signage environments. Alternate features allow switching between spurless and round 'a', straight or hooked variants of several lowercase letters, and a Frutiger-style ampersand.

Classification

An almost monolinear neo-grotesque with closed counters, horizontal stroke endings, symmetrical arcs and organically connected joints — characteristics consistent with the Swiss grotesque tradition and wayfinding-oriented designs such as Frutiger and Helvetica.
