A digitisation and expansion of Frederic Goudy's ornate initials from c.1918, extended to cover Latin, Greek and Cyrillic scripts with a layering system and a companion set of 30 ornaments.
About
Panos Vassiliou first digitised Goudy's elaborate decorated initials in 1998, adding Greek characters designed to match the original forms. The 2005 Pro version added Cyrillic coverage and a companion family, PF Goudy Ornaments, containing 30 frames and ornaments based on Goudy's originals, some restructured to connect for longer compositions. Multiple layering styles allow the letterforms and their backgrounds to be coloured independently for unlimited chromatic combinations.
Classification
Decorative drop-cap initials based on Frederic Goudy's ornate lettering from c.1918, digitised and expanded with layering styles, Greek, Cyrillic, and a companion ornaments set. The layering system and elaborate backgrounds place this firmly in the display/decorative category.
