In a Jar
Latinotype · Guisela Mendoza · 2013

A hand-lettered display family inspired by the warmth and visual language of a grandmother's kitchen, including ornaments and dingbats alongside four text styles.
About
Designed by Guisela Mendoza (Coto Mendoza) with technical support from Luciano Vergara, In a Jar draws on the colours, forms and textures of traditional domestic kitchen culture. The family spans Regular and Bold with matching italics, supplemented by dedicated Ornaments and Dingbats fonts to extend the handmade aesthetic. Alternates, compound words and ligatures are included to support label and packaging design, greetings cards and food-related branding.
Classification
A display typeface rooted in hand lettering traditions, designed for large sizes and short decorative text. Its informal, kitchen-inspired character places it firmly in the display/script-adjacent category rather than a conventional text face.
