Kudry specimen from ParaType

A four-subfamily display family drawing on the proportions of N. N. Kudryashev's sans serif, spanning a modern serif, contrasting sans, expressive 'weird' serif and stencil across three optical sizes.

About

Designed by Alexandra Korolkova, Isabella Chaeva and Nikolay Nedashkovsky, Kudry organises its twelve styles into Display, Headline and Text optical variants within each of its four subfamilies: Classic, Weird, Sans and Stencil. Each style includes alternate characters, swashes, ligatures, old-style and lining figures, arrows and case-sensitive punctuation. Coverage extends to major Cyrillic-based languages and all European Latin scripts, making it suited to cultural, publishing and packaging contexts where typographic refinement is the priority.

Classification

A high-contrast display family rooted in the proportions of Kudryashev's sans serif, expanded into four subfamilies including a modern serif, contrasting sans, weird serif and stencil, each optimised across optical sizes. The strong contrast and elegant detailing place it firmly in the display category.
