ParaType's 2012 geometric sans revival of the German DIN 1451 standard, extended with Cyrillic and Greek support across six weights.
About
Designed by Dmitry Kirsanov, DIN PT takes the mechanical, near-monolinear letterforms of the 1936 DIN 1451 standard and adapts them into a contemporary type family spanning six weights. The design retains the characteristically blunt, rule-bound geometry of the original while broadening its script coverage to include Cyrillic and Greek. Old-style figures and alternates are included alongside the core character set.
Classification
A geometric sans-serif revival of the DIN 1451 standard letterform, characterised by near-monolinear strokes, circular bowls and a mechanical, industrial aesthetic typical of the German standardisation tradition.
