A contemporary Bodoni revival from ParaType built as a full optical-size system spanning Text, Subhead and Display cuts across five weights with matching italics, Cyrillic support and two variable fonts.
About
Bodoni PT draws on the proportions and characteristic features of Giambattista Bodoni's typefaces, reinterpreted by lead designer Dmitry Kirsanov – a specialist in Bodoni's work – alongside the ParaType design and technology teams. Thirty-three styles cover three optical sizes (Text, Subhead and Display), five weights from Regular to Extra Bold, corresponding italics, two variable fonts and a dedicated ornament style. All styles support European Latin and Cyrillic scripts and include a full suite of OpenType features: small caps, proportional and tabular figures, old-style figures, indices and arrows.
Classification
Derived from the high-contrast vertical-stress letterforms of Giambattista Bodoni, placing it firmly in the Didone (modern serif) tradition. Three optical sizes – Text, Subhead and Display – extend the system from small text to large headings.
