Alphaville uses a consistent hairline stroke weight and rounded corners to give its letterforms a precise, almost drafting-tool quality. The family spans from Thin to Ultra, with obliques throughout, plus an Outline cut. The design is described as exploring the relationship between digital, print and scribal culture.

Classification

The specimen shows a mono-line geometric sans with rounded terminals, squared apertures and a distinctly technical character. The extreme thinness of stroke and open, looping letterforms place it firmly in display territory.
