Tarlan specimen from NoonFont

A single-weight Arabic-script display typeface developed through direct pen-and-ink exploration rather than revival of any existing script tradition.

About

Compact proportions, continuous curves and sharp terminals give Tarlan a fluid yet refined rhythm suited to headlines and short texts. Rather than quoting a specific calligraphic tradition, it synthesises qualities from multiple writing systems into a coherent visual language. It is intended for settings where the presence of the letterforms carries as much weight as legibility.

Classification

A single-weight Arabic-script display typeface with calligraphic origins, characterised by compact proportions, continuous curves and sharp terminals. Tagged as Naskh and Script, it draws from multiple Arabic writing traditions without reviving any single one directly.
