Darbareh
NoonFont · Naser Khadem · 2026

A geometric Persian typeface in 8 weights with a variable font file, designed with enlarged letter eyes and smaller bowls to balance expressiveness with readability in both display and body contexts.
About
Darbareh began as a series of sketches in 2022, exploring new proportions while retaining the essential features of Persian calligraphy. The letterforms are deliberately dry and regular, with oversized counters and teeth that aid legibility at smaller sizes and lend visual presence at display scale. Alongside Persian and Arabic, the family supports Urdu, Kurdish and Latin, with stylistic alternates, swash variants and binary ligatures included for typographic variety.
Classification
A Persian/Arabic typeface with geometric, regularised letterforms. The designer describes a dry, geometric approach with enlarged eyes and teeth for legibility, placing it firmly in the geometric sans tradition adapted for Nastaliq-influenced scripts.
