Aria
NoonFont · Kamyab Jafari, Omid Emamian · 2022

A 12-weight contemporary Naskh typeface co-designed by Kamyab Jafari and Omid Emamian, built for both print and web use across Arabic script languages, with a variable font included.
About
Designed collaboratively during quarantine without the two designers ever meeting in person, Aria applies the structural forms of classical Naskh script to contemporary usage requirements. Each weight is rebuilt individually for its specific application, with complete alternate and composite characters. A variable font accompanies the full family, supporting all Arabic script languages.
Classification
A contemporary Naskh-style Arabic script typeface, rooted in the classical Naskh calligraphic tradition. The Naskh style is the dominant serif-equivalent script for Arabic text, making this a serif-category typeface in functional terms.
