Damoon
NoonFont · Damoon Khanjanzadeh, Reza Bohlul · 2025

A Naskh-style Arabic typeface first drawn in 2008 and released publicly in 2025, spanning 11 weights with over 1,000 ligatures and support for Persian, Arabic, Urdu and Kurdish.
About
Designed by Damoon Khanjanzadeh and developed with NoonFont, the typeface fuses Persian calligraphic softness with sharp, decisive stroke cuts inspired by an unlikely source: the three dots engraved on a butcher's cleaver. Over 1,070 glyphs are included, with professional features such as monospaced numerals, vertical number alignment and mobile-optimised ligatures. The family is available in three tiers covering the full 11-weight range down to a two-weight Eco edition.
Classification
An Arabic-script typeface in the Naskh tradition, combining calligraphic refinement with contemporary typographic structure. The design draws on Persian calligraphic heritage while incorporating sharp, modern cuts suited to both text and display use.
