Optique Display Regular
NohType · Eunyou Noh · 2019

A multilingual display serif by Eunyou Noh pairing high-contrast Latin letterforms with Hangul, designed as her 2017 graduation project at KABK and released in 2019 to critical acclaim.
About
Optique Display draws on the broad nib for its Latin forms and the pointed brush for Hangul, harmonising two scripts with distinct calligraphic traditions into a single coherent typeface. The display cut features high stroke contrast and pronounced serifs suited to headline use, while a companion text version offers lower contrast and a larger x-height for smaller sizes. The family was selected by Typographica as one of its favourite typefaces of 2019.
Classification
A high-contrast serif with pronounced serifs designed for display use, drawing on the broad nib tradition for Latin and the pointed brush for Hangul. The strong stroke modulation and prominent serifs place it firmly in the display serif category.
