Growing out of a commission for Australian wine company Hardys, Domaine distils the audacious curling terminals and spiny serifs of historical Latin types through the proportions and bracketing of Scotch designs. The result sits between Old-Style and Modern, with extreme stroke contrast in its heavier weights and a restrained text cut designed to hold at smaller sizes. Four subfamilies — Display, Display Narrow, Display Condensed and Text — make it a practical choice for editorial systems requiring width variety.
