Rustica keeps the pen angle and the odd proportions of the original hand, with strokes that thin to a hairline and then flare. It is deliberately uneven, which is what keeps it from reading as a clean historical revival. Latin support runs wide enough for most European languages.

Classification

Based on Capitalis Rustica, the narrow pen-drawn Roman capital used in late antique manuscripts. Irregular and calligraphic, so display rather than serif.
