Displace 2.0
Serebryakov Type Foundry · Denis Serebryakov · 2019

A calligraphically grounded display family in five weights, built on broad-nib writing logic and a slight structural displacement that gives it a restless, humanist character.
About
Originating from a single-style release called Displace, version 2.0 expands the concept into ten styles across five weights with matching italics. The design reinterprets Roman monumental lettering through the logic of broad-nib writing – not imitation, but an independent recasting with gentle stroke contrast and a subtle axis shift that creates deliberate visual instability. Latin and Cyrillic are both supported, and oldstyle and lining figures are included as OpenType features.
Classification
A display typeface rooted in broad-nib calligraphic logic, with humanist proportions and gentle stroke contrast. Its defining characteristic – a deliberate displacement from the structural axis – sets it apart from conventional calligraphic or serif categories.
