The zero-contrast optical size of the Fluxetype family, designed by Nikita Kanarev for footnotes, object labels and interface navigation where stroke modulation would hinder legibility at small sizes.
About
Fluxetype Caption eliminates the stroke contrast present elsewhere in the Fluxetype family, leaving structural letterforms that hold together on uniform strokes. Seven weights run across three size variants (Petit, Normal and Grande), with a variable font available alongside static styles. The family covers an exceptionally broad range of Latin and Cyrillic languages, with OpenType features including Bulgarian and Serbian localised forms, oldstyle figures and discretionary ligatures.
Classification
Described by the foundry as sitting at the intersection of humanist sans and serifless roman; the Caption variant is the zero-contrast optical size, eliminating stroke modulation for maximum legibility at small sizes.
