sans-serifrectangular gothic, Filmotype revival
Filmotype Glenlake specimen from Mark Simonson

A revival of a 1955 Filmotype face with an unusually rectangular look among its G-series siblings, close in spirit to Compacta.

About

Filmotype Glenlake is part of the same G-named Filmotype series as Gay, Gem and Ginger but stands out for its rectangular proportions, which Simonson sees as a forerunner to faces like Compacta. It keeps the whiplash S spine and Futura-like construction of the other revivals in the series, along with a subtle hand-lettered feel. Owned by Font Diner and licensed under their terms.

Classification

A rectangular, Futura-constructed gothic revival, classed sans-serif alongside the rest of the Filmotype G-series.
